As with traditional Baccarat, players are tasked with selecting the winning hand – the Player or the Banker. In Baccarat, the Tie bet pays 8:1, but in Bac Bo, the Tie Bet pays up to 88:1. The dice represent numbers 1 through 6. The total of both dice represents the total of the Player's hand or the Banker's hand.
Bac Bo is played with a pair of dice for both the Player's hand and the Banker's hand. The Player's hand uses blue dice. These remain in shakers that randomly shake the dice, one at a time. As each one comes to rest, the totals for the Player and the Banker are calculated. Players simply bet on the Player, the Banker, or a Tie bet to determine which hand wins. As with traditional Baccarat, the highest winning hand total is an 8 or 9 – deemed Naturals in Baccarat. To determine the hand totals, players simply need to add the value of each dice outcome together.
Consider the following examples:
In this example, the Banker has the ‘higher’ value hand upfront, but based on the rules of Baccarat this is not the case. Any hand value greater than 9 automatically has the tens digit removed. In this case, 11 becomes 1. Therefore, the Player wins since the Player’s hand total is 8 which is greater than 1. A few more examples will highlight how Bac Bo works.
Result: Tie bet wins. Player and Banker bets lose, but Tie bets win since both results are identical.
Result: Banker bet wins since the Player bet has a value of 0. The Banker’s total is a Natural and is the best possible result in Bac Bo.
Once the game begins, the Player’s dice come to rest first. Then the Banker’s dice come to rest. Either the Player or the Banker wins, or a Tie result occurs. If after the first dice shake, the Player’s total is higher than the Banker’s total, then the Player’s second dice will start to shake. The dice shake begins with the Player, then the Banker, then the Player, then the Banker. With every successive dice shake, the level of excitement grows. Players can gauge what score is required on the final dice shake to win or tie the game. This helps to keep the game engaging on every play.
